Cycle
Life is beautiful and sometimes challenging. How can we answer to that? Seeing life as an adventure, learning a culture of constructive dispute in order to find a common solution, finding inner peace, reconciling with ourselves, occasionally being a non-conformist in order to challenge the mainstream? There are so many answers to this question.
Artistic Approach
The people are depicted very abstractly in order not to distract from the content and to reinforce the symbolism. They have a body, head, torso, arms, and legs. They are kept as beings in copper or gold in order to give them a shine, to move them into the center.
I designed each of the works in this cycle in a square format of 40 x 40 centimeters. The image flows into the edge of the canvas and thus offers a whole, a flow, from every viewing direction.
Story of the Work "Self-Love"
Self-love, give love to yourself, give yourself a hug and feel the beat of your heart, your inner engine. Put your roots down deep into the earth and absorb the energy of nature.
Feel connected to the world, do something good for yourself, be caressed by the warmth and light of the sun. Treat yourself benevolently and draw from the energy of love.

Story of the Work "Solidarity"
For me, solidarity is an expression of humanity and active giving. Be it compassion, support in form of my time and knowledge, or a part of my belongings.
The giver meets the taker at eye level. He steps out of his own world, his perception, his living conditions and connects with the world of the other. Two worlds are connected, and yet both are in turn part of one world.
