I decided to use the calabash as the basic material for the models in the design of the product lines for the bowls of the two tablewares.

The first step was to learn the procedure of processing the berry of the calabash tree and gradually refine it. In this way, I not only got to know the material well, but also the feasibilities in creating the models.

In a second step, I created a design concept for the two lines. The connecting elements of the lines are not only the strong and bright colors of Guadeloupe, but also the use of these colors. The inside is kept in a darkened tone of the outside color of the bowl. An additional graphic element, which is repeated on the outside and inside, finally creates the individuality of each single bowl.

The bowls of the tableware are composed of three different sizes. The small format has a diameter of 11 cm and a height of 6 cm, the medium one has a diameter of 14 cm and a height of 7 cm. Finally, the large format is characterized by a diameter of 16 cm and a height of 8 cm.
