The Fibonacci Sequence – especially from a philosophical point of view – forms the basis of the three series in this cycle.

In a first step, I delved into the mathematical functions and properties of this infinite sequence of natural numbers. From the definition of the Fibonacci sequence itself, through the relationships between its sequence links, to the irrational number Phi.

The sequence can also be found in algebraic and geometric split ratios in our nature. Occasionally, plants arrange their leaves and blossoms in the Golden Angle in order to make the best possible use of the incoming sunlight and the accompanying photosynthesis. Another example is the shell of the nautilus, which is constructed along the Golden Spiral.

I could roughly summarize the questions that I asked myself and I meditated on like this:

What does Phi mean as one of the most irrational numbers on a meta level in relation to us as individuals, to us individuals as part of our society as well as to us individuals and our society as part of the world we know.

I have implemented the work of this cycle in a limited edition using screen printing technology. The colors used are based on the collection of over 300 color combinations developed by the Japanese avant-garde artist Sanzo Wada.
